About us
We seek Recovery in faith
Seeking recovery through faith is a deeply personal and transformative journey for many individuals battling addiction, trauma, or other life challenges. Faith-based recovery offers a unique approach that integrates spiritual belief, often emphasizing a relationship with a higher power as central to healing and change. For those who subscribe to religious or spiritual traditions, turning to faith during recovery can provide a profound sense of purpose, strength, and community. Belief in divine guidance or intervention can help individuals find meaning in their struggles and motivate them to pursue a healthier life.
We value freedom of belief
While religious belief is not a universal solution for everyone, many find that faith brings an additional layer of hope and resilience. The idea of divine grace and unconditional love can serve as a powerful counter to the feelings of isolation or hopelessness that often accompany addiction. Ultimately, recovery through faith invites individuals to not only heal but to find a renewed sense of purpose and connection with something greater than themselves, making their journey a deeply enriching and empowering experience.

I am Laura. I was born in Longview Texas. I have 4 amazing kiddos that are the beats to my heart. I have lived all over East Texas. Ten years ago, I found myself in Carthage.
Let me just start there...
I’m a recovered meth addict. I spent about 10 years battling my addiction. My life had become a series of self inflicted, horrible events. I thought I had it “under control”, until my world came crashing down around me. It was in the very worst part of my active addiction ,that I became pregnant. It was then that I knew that addiction was real.
I wish I could tell you that when I found out I was pregnant , I stopped using, but that’s not the case. So the day I had my baby, October 23 ,2021 with my family and children and CPS in my hospital room, I came clean. It was that day that I began my journey to recovery.
Just like everyone else, I had services to work, classes to take and meetings to attend. The problem was that there were none offered in this area. I had to travel sometimes 2 hours away to attend a class weekly. I made note that needs to change. I worked all my services and attended meetings and went back to school. I became a Recovery Support Specialist.
My kids came home on February 12, and on May 18,2022 my CPS case was closed.
At Be A Light rehabilitation Services, we offer all the classes I had to travel all over east Texas to attend. My hope is that by offering a solution to the addiction problem, we can attack this epidemic head on. We are creating a support system for those in need.
In order to achieve and retain recovery, there are many areas that need to be worked through. Working through the trauma and finding the best version of yourself , is what we are all about. I cannot “sell” recovery, but I can tell you how I did it, then offer those suggestions to apply to your life.
My journey is a story of redemption, healing and hope. Yours can be too❤️🩹.
